Karobar @ The Three Swords – Horsforth, Leeds

We had a lovely morning at this pub restaurant, which is surprisingly bright and very pretty inside! The pub itself has a vast range of beers, wine, spirits and more, and is part of Kirkstall Brewery. The food was so flavoursome, I really want to return to try Karobar’s usual daily menu one evening and have some beers alongside. A lovely brunch reveal set up by some lovely people.

We enjoyed;

  • Eggs Kerjiwal – spicy egg with cheese, on toast, served with vibrant coconut chutney. This was very new to our palette and we really enjoyed it! I wouldn’t say it was overly spicy, but the egg was like whipped and was more of a foam. So light and airy! I’d definitely have this again.
  • Special Aloo Paratha – flatbread griddled & filled with a spicy mashed potato mix. Served with yogurt & homemade pickles. This doesn’t look like a dish in itself, but it’s actually really moreish and filling! Some great flavours.
  • Special Grand Indian Breakfast – something a bit more familiar to us and it was lovely. LOTS of food on this one so make sure you’re hungry! The sausages were great, quite herby. But the best thing for me was the masala omelette, I could eat that again and again (you can get this as a standalone dish on the menu!),so good.
  • Masala Chai – a warming, savoury style milky tea. Definitely add sugar to this one. Love it!
