The White Hart, Pool in Wharfedale – North Leeds

Ben and I visited The White Hart in September for a 3 course meal with drinks, on the way to seeing some friends that lived nearby, and we loved it! A bit of a drive away for us being based in Sheffield, it was still worth it even if we hadn’t been visiting locally. Set near Otley, this stylish country/gastro pub serves up a fantastic modern British menu.

We enjoyed;

  • PAN-FRIED WILD SCALLOPS with Crispy prosciutto, thyme velouté, capers, artichoke crisps️
  • SLOW-COOKED BEEF CROQUETTES with Horseradish, beef dripping sauce️
  • *SPECIAL* of Roast Lamb Rump with Yorkshire Pudding, potatoes, vegetables & gravy
  • KING PRAWN, CRAB & ORTIZ CHORIZO LINGUINE WITH SCALLOPS
  • MINI DESSERT & COCKTAIL – MINI VALRHONA CHOCOLATE BROWNIE (V) with
  • Amaretti biscuit crumb, chocolate sauce, Bourbon vanilla ice cream, AND AN AMARETTO SOUR
  • OUR CHOCOLATE BOMB with Amarena cherry, brownie, Bourbon vanilla ice cream, chocolate popping candy, Oreo crumb®, crushed meringue, dried raspberries, warm chocolate sauce️

Perfect for all seasons, the pub itself has a very warm atmosphere, and outside during the Summer months, they have a fantastic courtyard area. The White Hart also serve Sunday lunches, and when we arrived for our booking at 2pm, the car park was almost full and it was very busy – so we would recommend booking ahead!

The ambience and food were superb, no complaints from us at all. The service was great also. For more information on The White Hart, and to check out their menus, visit their website here.
