We had the most lovely brunch at The Barn at Whirlow Farm, Sheffield — think locally sourced, seasonal goodness served with rustic charm. From farm-fresh eggs to locally reared meat (some from the farm itself!) and rich, barista-style coffee, every bite tasted delicious. [ad]

Not just a lovely café vibe with great food, but a real story to tell, as the farm funds and provides education for people with extra needs outside of mainstream education. The Barn have great breakfast options, delicious sandwiches along with changing specials. They also have a decent selection of hot and cold drinks, cakes and deli items throughout the day. And the children’s’ menu are great too, so that no-one is left out! There really is something for everyone. The café is dog friendly & available for private hire too!

We enjoyed;

• The Barn Breakfast – Whirlow pork sausage, maple bacon, fried free-range egg, grilled tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, black pudding & baked beans, with sourdough toast. This was as quality, delicious full breakfast. Definitely on the pricey side, but the quality of ingredients does come through,
• Spicy Spanish Eggs – Smashed avocado, poached eggs, chorizo, spicy red onion sauce & crispy parma ham on toasted sourdough. I also added halloumi. A very tasty and filling breakfast indeed.
• Banana Bread Special – Warm banana bread with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Comfort food at it’s best!
• Iced Latte with hazelnut syrup & Abbeydale Heresy Lager.

We really enjoyed the food here. Yes, it is on the pricier side for a breakfast, but worth it with the quality and something to do for a few hours in the farm and surrounding area. Some examples of other meals they have; Breakfast Butties, Seasonal Frittata, Whirlow Beef Burger, homemade scones and more. There is a well-stocked farm shop AND a small area with farm animals to go see too! You might even catch a glimpse of some Highland Cows🤞🏼 Family-friendly and fully accessible, this café and farm provides a lovely afternoon out.
