Cocina Restaurant at Casa Hotel, Chesterfield

At Cocina, their meat is cooked in a Josper Grill, which imparts a smokey flavour, resulting in tender, juicy, and fragrant meat. They use the finest cuts of meat including home reared Belted Galloway rare breed cattle from their very own Walton Lodge Farm Estate. The other meals offered on the menu also use the finest, freshly sourced ingredients.

We enjoyed;

  • Tapas (price range £7 – £11/£17 for scallops); Smokey Padron Peppers, Crispy Calamari, Gambas Pil Pil
  • 10oz Rib Eye (£28), medium rare, with triple-cooked chips, roquette leaves, grated aged Manchego cheese, and smoked paprika roasted vine tomato + wild mushroom sauce (+£4)
  • 10oz Sirloin Steak (£32), medium rare, with the above sides + peppercorn sauce (+£4)
  • Spiced Apple Tarte Tatin with Tonka bean ice cream (£9)
  • Affogato with Shanky’s Whip whisky liqueur (£9)
  • We also enjoyed a lovely Rioja that went well with the food

We had such a lovely meal in this restaurant, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys tapas and steaks as the food was exceptional, in a gorgeous setting, Find out more about this restaurant on their website here.
