Footy Food Edition – Sheffield Wednesday V Stoke City, Hillsborough Football Ground

I have to say we were pleasantly surprised with the choices and the quality, if only we’d taken the extra time to look around before, there’s some fantastic food around.

The food was definitely the highlight of the first half 😅 but as I keep saying, it often a game of 2 halves, and the Owls beat Stoke in the end 🙌

After giving the Head Chef a visit and a sneaky peek through the kitchens (tempted to nick Chansiri’s Croissants haha), we saw a glimpse into the action behind the scenes but left them to it, to try some for ourselves.

🍔First stop was a pint and a Chicken Tower Burger (£5) at The Wednesday Tap. No wait time at all for them to grab our burger from the kitchen and it was piping hot! Breaded Chicken Fillet, Potato Rosti, Smoked Cheese & Bacon with some crunchy salad on brioche. The chicken fillet was massive. This hit the spot the day after a night out, let me tell you 👌

🍛Next up we had a small walk down the North Stand ground floor concourse and came across Oriental Express. Chinese Chicken Curry and Rice – MAMMOTH portion for just £6 and you get lots of chicken. the sauce is delish and we took it up to our seats to warm us up before kick off.

➕️There’s lots more on offer at all concourses plus the Tap including (& subject to change);
Chicken Gyros with chips
Chicken Burrito
Philli Cheesesteak Subs
Vegan Cauli & Onion Bhaji Pasty
Sourdough Pizza
..and more…. – I have stressed to the Head Chef that they need some sort of simple food map on their website and somewhere on display at each concourse, so that it is easier for people to find some decent grub.

🤔 What to go for on my next visit?? What would you choose?
