Indian Tiffin Room, Leeds

And the food… WOW. I have been to this restaurant a few times now, please read about my experiences below.

On my first visit in July 2024, my friend and I visited and everything we tried in the Leeds restaurant was personally selected and recommended by the staff (and because we just couldn’t choose from all of the amazing sounded dishes), it was perfection.

We enjoyed;

  • Gobi Manchurian (£7.25); Cauliflower, wok fried the Indo-Chinese way. This was absolutely delicious.
  • Highway Chicken Tikka NEW (£10.95)
  • Dahi Puri (£5.25); Puffed hollow pastry rounds filled with potato and yogurt. To be eaten whole!
  • Crispy Malabar Fish Fry NEW (£8)
  • Sweet Potato Masala Chips (£4.50)
  • Tanjore Chicken with Kal Dosa (£18); Chicken cooked with legendary chettinad spices. Served with a lentil pancake.
  • Pan Asian Prawn Masala with Lemon Vermicelli (£19); Prawns cooked in a smokey chipotle chilli sauce, a South-East Asian inspired flavour. Serviced with thin rice noodes. This had a real kick to it!
  • Bombay Delight (Served in a lightbulb glass!!) & In The Pink Cocktails (£10.75 each)

We were really impressed with the food, drinks, exquisite service and restaurant itself. Some of the prices can seem a little high, but the dishes are absolutely high standard, large portions and I feel it’s a real treat to dine here It would be great for a special occasion.

I was kindly invited back in December 2024, and this time I took my Dad. When I was young, my parents and I celebrated special occasions at a local curry house. Nowadays, I love how Indian street food and more authentic South Indian dishes are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, and I jumped at the chance of returning to ITR, this time with my Dad, presenting him to the street food side of an Indian meal.

I introduced my Dad to one of my recent favourite things to eat; Paani Puri. He said “it’s like a bush-tucker trial” haha. But enjoyed them as much as me.

As it was December, Indian Tiffin Room were advertising a Christmas Menu – £28.50 (3 COURSE) / £30 (4 COURSE). ALSO ITR offered Christmas Dinner, delivered straight to your door on the big day. What a treat (if I lived near Leeds Centre).

My Dad and I enjoyed;

  • Paani Puri️ (£5.25)
  • Tandoori Chicken Tikka (£10.95 – was incl. on Christmas Menu)
  • ITR Rajastani Laas Maas; Aromatic Lamb dish in a spicy sauce, with Naan (£13.95 + £3.50- was incl. on Christmas Menu)
  • Tanjore Chicken (again haha) served with Roti (£13.95 + £3.25)
  • Bombay Potatoes **I thought this especially yummy and a great portion for the price (£4.25)
  • Bombay Delight Cocktail **comes in a lightbulb glass; Absolut Vodka & Mango spiced with curry leaves. Perfect combo with honey and gingerbread (hence the biscuit – £10.75).
  • Phirni; Classic Indian creamy sweet rice pudding (£5.75 – was incl. on 4 course Christmas Menu)
  • Pistachio Kulfi (£5.75 – was incl. on 4 course Christmas Menu)

The atmosphere was great. The food was spot on, everything was delicious and we ate every last bit! Dad was pleased also to see a proper Polish vodka on their drinks menu, being half Polish himself (Żubrówka)

Opening Times; Mon – Fri 12pm – 10pm Sat – 1pm – 10:30pm & Sun – 1pm – 9:30pm
